Question 1. What is thy only comfort in life and death?
질문 1. 살든지 죽든지 당신의 유일한 위로는 무엇입니까?

Answer:

That I with body and soul, both in life and death,
살든지 죽든지 나의 몸과 영혼이

am not my own,
나의 것이 아니요

but belong unto my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ;
다만 나의 신실하신 구주 예수 그리스도께 속해 있다는 것입니다.

who, with his precious blood, has fully satisfied for all my sins,
그분께서 보배로운 피로 나의 모든 죄값을 다 치루셨고

and delivered me from all the power of the devil;
마귀의 모든 권세로부터 나를 건지셨습니다.

and so preserves me
그처럼 나를 보존하시니

that without the will of my heavenly Father, not a hair can fall from my head;
내 하늘 아버지의 뜻이 없이는 머리카락 한 올도 떨어지지 않습니다.

yea, that all things must be subservient to my salvation,
그렇습니다. 그 모든 것이 나의 구원을 돕는 것이 틀림없습니다.

and therefore, by his Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life,
그러므로 그분의 거룩한 영으로 그분께서 내게 영생을 보증하십니다.

and makes me sincerely willing and ready, henceforth, to live unto him.
그리고 나를 앞으로는 진심으로 기꺼이 그분을 위해 살도록 하십니다.
